A Thousand Lovely Words

A collection of all the colors life has to offer

Facebook

Our generation is in trouble. We measure our happiness based on the appearance of other people’s happiness. We can’t have fun unless everyone knows we are having fun. If no one knows, it doesn’t count. Every time I log onto Facebook and see all of the pictures and check ins and status’ of my friends I always wish that I could have as much fun as them. In all of my wishes, I seem to somehow forget that I do.

So here is my proposed summer resolution: I will only go on Facebook once a day. Period. I will find other constructive ways to fill my free time. I will NOT measure my happiness based on others.

Let’s see how long this lasts.

Wait

I have recently rather unfortunately found myself sounding more and more like a valley girl every day. “wait, but that’s like really cute!” The word wait begins most of my sentences. I’ve never been one for patience, so it amuses me that my new favorite word has so much to do with it.

When I don’t get answers right away my pulse quickens and my body and mind are no longer able to think of anything else. It’s one of my least favorite attributes about myself.

I wish that the act of waiting was as easy as saying the word.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.”
